Job Overview
A Human Resources Assistant is a dynamic role in which the incumbent will be the first point of HR contact for employees. The incumbent will manage attendance and administering the Human Resources Information System (HRIS). We are looking for an individual who is responsible, takes initiative and capable of working independently.  The ideal candidate will have strong multitasking, communication and organizational skills.

Main Responsibilities

  • Act as the first HR contact for employee issues, concerns and complaints
  • ·   Guide and resolve any issues as they arise and escalate any issues as required
  • ·   Maintain employee attendance and updating employee records
  • ·   Generate relevant reports for payroll purposes from the HRIS
  • ·   Administer the HRIS including inputting users, managing requests and appraisals
  • ·   Plan employee engagement events
  • ·   Prepare HR forms including all onboarding forms, appraisals, warning letters, and termination papers
  • ·   Create contracts and ensure notarization by all parties involved
  • ·   Participate in implementing HR projects from start to finish including doing research
  • ·   Play a role in the recruitment process including sourcing, screening and phone interviews
  • ·   Attend and prepare for university career fairs
  • ·   Creating Word documents, Excel files, and PowerPoint presentations
  • ·   General office duties such as filing, scanning, faxing, receiving mail, ordering office supplies and directing calls to the appropriate parties
  • ·   Responsible for greeting guests and signing them in at the receptionist desk occasionally
  • ·   Perform additional duties as required

Employment Requirements

  • Currently studying in an accredited university specializing in Human Resources
  • Able to multitask and work efficiently in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Organized, problem solver and a team player
  • Quick learner and able to communicate ideas effectively
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet all deadlines
  • Ability to work with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Legally able to work in Canada
  • Fluent spoken and written English
